UK Camps are typically held during the Easter and Summer School Holidays

Staff and Cadets live on an RAF Station for a week, immersed in the atmosphere and lifestyle of regular service personnel. During the stay on camp, cadets may have the opportunity to:

• Visit various sections on the station, which vary by station but may include:
• Flying Squadrons
• Air Traffic Control
• Fire/Police Section
• Engineering
• Specialist Units
• See and maybe even fly in military aircraft
• Visit local towns or cultural sites
• Apply for work experience in a particular section
• Carry out marksmanship training
• Gain swimming qualifications
• Meet cadets from all over Devon & Somerset Wing and beyond

After attending a few domestic camps, cadets may be offered the opportunity to go on an overseas camp. These camps are held at various locations in Europe where there is an RAF/military presence and provide opportunities to see service life in a foreign country.

Locations include:

• RAF Akrotiri, Cyprus
• Rheindahlen, Germany
• RAF Gibraltar, Gibraltar

IACE is an international association, uniting Air Cadet organisations from 17 different countries

Each year, over 500 young people have the opportunity to travel to one of the other countries to experience different cultures

Cadets have the chance to spend 2 weeks in countries such as Canada, New Zealand or the Philippines
